This beer first appeared as Maxim Ale in 1901 to
mark the homecoming of the Maxim gun detachment, which was led in
the Boer War by Colonel Ernest Vaux. In 1938 the brew was
increast in strenght and was called Double Maxim.

OPINION: A smooth rounded flavour thats not to malty,
with a smoky aftertaste. A very nice beer, with a smooth and
pleasant flavour that gets better the further down the glass you
go!
Try this if your not keen
